My name is Melissa L. Hamblet and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and therapist licensed in the state of Florida. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Florida in 2008, and my Master of Social Work from the University of South Florida in 2016.
My passion for therapy began with my own lived experience as a neurodivergent, queer person navigating my way through the world. I founded Seeking Balance Counseling & Wellness LLC in 2022. I aim to share my experience, strength, and hope with others. I am LGBTQ+ Affirming, sex positive, body positive, and racial justice allied. I believe in health at every size and am passionate about human rights and social justice.
I moved back to Gainesville in 2016 and live with my kiddo, my partner, and my three cats and dog- Edgar, Marshmallow, Priscilla, and Caesar! When I have down time, you will catch me with my family, working in my yard, relaxing outdoors, trying out new vegan cuisine, drinking boba, or finding something to learn about my special interests!
